Keratin nano capsule extensions explained
Nano capsules are miniature keratin bonds roughly half the size of a classic capsule. They allow denser, more natural results on finer hair and sit less visibly, at the cost of longer application time and a higher strand count.
What makes them different
The bonding principle is the same as classic keratin — heat softens the compound and it is moulded around the strand. The difference is scale: a smaller bond means less weight per attachment point and a flatter profile against the head.
Who they suit
Clients with fine or medium hair who want density without visible attachment points, and clients who wear their hair up frequently. On very thick hair, nano capsules simply increase application time without visible benefit.
Application reality
Expect 150–250 strands for a full head and four to six hours of work. This is why nano capsule services are priced above standard keratin: the master is selling significantly more labour, not just a different material.
Wear and correction
Correction follows the same two to three month cycle. Because the bonds are smaller, careful removal technique matters more — rushed removal on nano capsules causes more breakage than on standard ones.
How it compares with cold methods
Nano keratin reduces the visibility problem but still involves heat. Cold concealed techniques remove the thermal factor entirely, which is why they are usually preferred for bleached or already weakened hair.
Who should not have nano capsules
Clients with very thick hair gain nothing — the application takes hours longer for a result standard capsules achieve. Clients with severely damaged or freshly bleached hair should be directed to a cold method instead, because nano capsules still involve heat at the bonding stage.
